Teaching Artist Services

All teaching artists are experienced in the art of filmmaking and working with students in Special Education.Teaching artists are occupational therapists, speech therapists or Special Education teachers by training. They have at least 5 years of experience working with students in Special Education.

Teaching artists establish connection with classroom teachers and leaders to co-design a filmmaking project that suits the needs and educational outcomes desired. Filmmaking projects can be tailored to target a range of outcomes that include learning technical skills related to the art form itself. 

 

Filmmaking projects are aligned with the standards set by the New York City Blueprint for Teaching and Learning in the Arts. They also align with the Common Core standards in English Language Arts and New York State Learning Standards in Social Studies and Math, Science, and Technology,
